Welcome to Port Isaac Pottery
"All of our pieces are handmade to the highest standards and we take pride in the high quality of our work. Precious metal lustres and gold are applied and each piece has at least three firings in both our electric and gas-fired kilns. The bold and elegant forms complement the watercolour-style decoration, which are often inspired by the North Cornwall coastline. The small harbour, the fish, the local flora and fauna provide unlimited design potential for both the form and decoration of our pottery." - Bill & Barbara Hawkins
Barbara is also responsible for the expanding range of much sought after porcelain jewellery and paintings which adorn the walls of the old chapel.
''A simple slate Methodist Chapel and Sunday School in the Georgian tradition hangs over the harbour and is the prettiest building in the town'' - John Betjeman
Port Isaac Pottery is now proud to include the work of the rest of the family; Faye Hawkins with her unique handmade ceramics and her exclusively designed baby and toddler clothing range “Small Fry”, Jo Hawkins upstairs gallery selling a range of giftware and clothing and Matthew Main’s award-winning, inspirational photography.
Chapel Cafe - Opening Spring 2014
Chapel Cafe will be opening in spring 2014 operating under the same roof as Port Isaac Pottery. Our customers will still get the same unique and exciting experience from visiting our gallery, with the added luxury of being able to sit down, relax and enjoy an Italian coffee and cake, even a bowl of local Porthilly moules mariniere with a crisp glass of wine or a farm cider.
